Join us for World Mental Health Day for HR and Managers training | Thursday 10th October
For many employees, the way their employer leads the organisation and the way they’re treated by their line manager makes a big difference to how they feel about the business they work for – and the amount of effort they’re prepared to put into their role.
Finding ways to improve well-being and promote mental health at work is a matter of self-interest for employers. Creating a culture that supports good mental health can reduce the potential costs of mental health related sickness absence and presenteeism and increase production, innovation, profits and staff retention.
As leaders and managers are vital to protecting mental health in the workplace, it is important to understand the parameters of what businesses should (and should not) do.
At Bath Mind, we are committed to training responsible employers (including HR, leaders and managers) on how to manage mental health in the workplace. So join us for World Mental Health Day as we run a course on how to effectively manage mental health within the parameters of employment law.
Our experts Arabella Tresilian (Bath Mind Trainer and Mediator) and our Chair of Trustees, Pip Galland (Employment Law & HR Solicitor) will be covering the following:
Part 1: Mental Health awareness (Morning)
- how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental health concerns in your team
- how to have sensitive conversations with staff and build a supportive culture
- where to signpost staff to professional external help
- how to remain resilient to dealing with mental health issues at work
Part 2: Employment law (Afternoon)
- what your legal obligations are as an employer
- how to support and manage mental ill health, sickness absence / capability
- how to promote and champion a strategy covering mental health at work
Notes and practical scenarios will be provided
