Without Bath Mind I would not be here today. I still have bad days but at a time when I needed help the most, you were there for me.

Bath Mind is a local independent mental health charity working across B&NES and Wiltshire.

When my wife died I was in the deepest, darkest despair. Bath Mind provided me with a focus and gave me new ways and tools to approach life

We believe that nobody should face a mental health problem alone.

We are here to make sure that everyone with, or at risk of, mental ill health has somewhere to turn to for information, advice and support.

Welcome to Bath Mind

We are caring, knowledgeable, professional, and responsible.  We put people at the heart of all that we do.

We were established in 1998 by a group of local people with lived experience of mental ill health who wanted to provide information and activities for people in the community.  Since then we have worked hard to develop what we do in response to local needs.

Many of our current staff have lived experience of facing mental health challenges; we have a greater understanding of the community that we support.

We are in contact with over 3,400 people annually to improve, prevent and maintain mental health and wellbeing.

While we are affiliated to national Mind, we receive no direct funding from them. We are a self – sustaining, independent locally run charity.

A huge thanks to Richard Lowe and his team for raising £8567.89 for ourselves, Bath Mind and Bristol Mind through the fantastic Music for the Mind initiative. This total figure comes from the money raised at the Music for the Mind concert which took place in Wells in September and the Gala Dinner in June.

Pictured is our Community Fundraising Manager, David Fields with Richard Lowe and Hannah and Tom from Bath and Bristol Mind.

Feeling inspired? Richard and South West local Minds would love to see you all building on this concept of Music for the Mind by organising your own Music for the Mind fundraising event. Details on how you can get involved can be found here: www.southsomersetmind.co.uk/music-for-the-mind.asp

After the council wrongly withdrew his housing benefit, cuts to legal aid meant Ian couldn't challenge the decision and left him desperate. Here he explains the impact this had on his mental health and how he turned things around.

If you've suffered as a result of cuts to legal aid, take our survey at the bottom of Ian's blog.
