The Safe Space group has supported me by giving a sense of encouraging consistency in my weekly life, in addition to introducing me to an accepting group of various individuals and experiences.
What is Safe Space?
Safe Space is a peer support group is for young people (aged 16-25) to connect and have discussions about their mental health and wellbeing in a safe, supportive place, facilitated by Bath Mind staff and volunteers. There are opportunities to engage in new activities based around the five ways to wellbeing, such as sharing music, literature, guided art sessions, theatre and physical activity.
The group also have a social gathering once each month, sharing a game of bowling, a cinema trip or a meal together.
Safe Space is currently held on Zoom every Thursday from 5pm to 6.30pm, and the group meets monthly.
