What is Open Opportunities?
Open Opportunities is a community support group that meets face to face every Monday and Wednesday from 11am to 1pm in central Bath.
The group offers people with ongoing mental health issues the opportunity to engage in social activities linked to the five ways to wellbeing (connect, be active, take notice, learn and give). The aim is to improve members’ physical and mental health, supporting people to self-care and to reduce social isolation.
Members are encouraged to get involved in all aspects of running the group and hold quarterly meetings to discuss the direction of the group and plan what activities they would like to explore.
Members try a wide range of activities that help improve their wellbeing, including:
- art therapy
- bread making
- music therapy
and more. The group have also enjoyed days out to Wells, Bristol Zoo and Weston Super Mare.
