Bespoke training and workshops

Workshops for Young People

Bath Mind can offer a variety of workshops for young people on topics such as strategies to manage anxiety, building resilience and supporting peers.

Whether it’s supporting young people with their worries about body image, fears about mental health problems or living with a diagnosis, our workshops and training courses are designed to create a welcoming and safe space for everyone.

We offer workshops lasting from 90 mins to full day courses. These sessions are interactive, and can be offered both in person and online.

Our workshops are designed to reduce your stress, anxiety and overwhelm as well as that of your students.

We offer workshops lasting from 90 mins to full day courses. These sessions are interactive, and can be offered both in person and online. Topics include but not limited to:

  • practical strategies to support with transitions during the pandemic
  • supporting bereavement and loss
  • staff wellbeing and embedding a wellbeing culture

Please note, sessions can be tailored to support staff working with all age groups.

Qualifications and courses

Youth Mental Health First Aid

This comprehensive course from Mental Health First Aid trains you as a Youth Mental Health First Aider, giving you:

  • An in-depth understanding of young people’s mental health and factors that affect wellbeing
  • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues 
  • Confidence to reassure and support a young person in distress
  • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening 
  • Knowledge to help a young person recover their health by guiding them to further support 
  • Ability to support a young person with a long term mental health issue or disability to thrive
  • Tools to look after your own mental wellbeing ​

This is a two-day (in-person, broken down into four sessions online) course for anyone living with, working with or supporting a young person aged 8-18.

Youth Mental Health First Aid: Aware

This introductory three hour session from Mental Health First Aid raises awareness of young people’s mental health. It covers:

  • Some of the common mental health issues affecting young people, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders and psychosis
  • Skills to work more effectively with young people living with mental health issues
  • Ways to support young people with a mental health issue and relate to their experiences

This is a 3 hour workshop for anyone living with, working with or supporting a young person aged 8-18.
