Bath Mind Wellbeing Groups in Lockdown: Louise’s Story

Before Covid 19 I would meet face to face with my wellbeing group. When the virus struck, zoom meetings started. At first we struggled getting to grips with technology, switching your sound and videos on, groups were small.

Then the groups in the area merged together, the wonders of technology to do this without leaving home. At first it was strange seeing new faces, people I didn’t know, then within a few weeks, it became fun meeting people from Bath I probably otherwise wouldn’t of met.

The groups being virtual meet 3 times a week, being lead by different members of staff. The groups members are from  different backgrounds, old and young. We enjoy quizzes together, and I myself put some together about music, gardening, and cooking. Also I’ve shown my hobby of crafting to the group.

Now we’ve all bonded and can chat openly about lots of subjects, bouncing idea’s off each other, and giving advice about mental health difficulties to each other.

During covid 19 zoom has been a great success for people with mental heath with lots of pluses too.

A big thank you to Louise for sharing her experience of Bath Mind’s online wellbeing groups with us! It’s a real pleasure hearing from our group members throughout a challenging time in lockdown.
