Suicide First Aid
This one-day training course for suicide intervention skills has been developed in partnership with the International City & Guilds Approved Centre Suicide First Aid Qualifications.
Delivered by qualified and experienced suicide prevention trainers, this unique learning experience is for anyone who seeks greater understanding and confidence to intervene with people at risk of suicide.
Course outcomes:
- Learn the impact and value of personal and professional experience with suicide
- Know the barriers that prevent people at risk seeking help
- Understand the prevalence of suicide thoughts and suicide behaviours
- Know the Signs of Suicide and the Suicide-Safety Guide
- Understand partnership working and community resources
By completing Suicide First Aid, you are on the path to achieving the UK’s only national Suicide Prevention qualification. After the course, you will have the opportunity to attain 6 QCF credits at level 4 by completing an additional assessment.
The course is suitable for anyone over the age of 18 and participants can attend for personal or professional reasons. Participants will be asked to empathise with those experiencing suicidal thoughts. Please consider if this course is appropriate for you and your situation.
