What is Open Space?

Open Space is a Bath Mind project to support young people’s wellbeing through working with school groups and home learners. We inspire young people to discover new activities, share their ideas, and get creative. Many of our activities take place outdoors, allowing participants to connect with the natural world.

Our goals are to:

  • Support the mental and emotional health of young people
  • Offer advice and tips to manage anxiety and stress
  • Boost resilience, self-confidence, and self-compassion
  • Encourage the making of new friends and social connections
  • Share the excitement of new ideas, creative expression, and exploration

Please note: This service has now ended.

Hear from our volunteer, Holly, who shares her experience of working with young people at Open Space:

The type of volunteering I do is with younger children, and what we usually do is some mindfulness activities in nature. The one thing I get out of volunteering is a lovely experience of helping others and getting to know other people here.
