Schools Invited to “Go Bright for Mind” to Support Youth Mental Health

Schools across Bath and North East Somerset are being invited to take part in Go Bright for Mind, a brand-new campaign by Bath Mind to raise awareness and funds for youth mental health. The initiative encourages students and staff to hold colourful fundraising events that spark important conversations about mental health while supporting vital local services.

With Mind’s Big Mental Health Report showing that 1 in 5 children and young people in England now have a mental health problem, Go Bright for Mind offers a fun and engaging way for schools to show their support. From bright bake sales to dress-in-colour days, art competitions, and vibrant hallway makeovers, there are endless ways to take part. Every event will help raise vital funds for Bath Mind, ensuring that no young person in our community has to face a mental health problem alone.

Becki Fox, Fundraising Manager at Bath Mind says –

This campaign is about bringing schools together to create a positive and supportive environment where students feel able to talk about mental health. By getting involved, schools will not only raise crucial funds but also show young people that their mental health is a priority.

Schools can choose any date to take part, but key awareness days provide great opportunities to link events to a wider movement:

  • International Day of Happiness – 20th March: A chance to celebrate positivity and wellbeing with a bright and cheerful fundraiser.
  • Stress Awareness Month – April: Encourage students to get creative with stress-relieving activities like art, mindfulness, and movement.
  • Mental Health Awareness Week – 12th-18th May: A perfect time to shine a light on mental health and raise vital funds for Bath Mind.

Schools that sign up will receive fundraising materials, planning support, and promotional resources to help make their events a success. Any school in Bath and North East Somerset can take part at a time that works best for them.
