Celebrating One Year of Support at Orchard House

One year ago, we proudly opened the doors of Orchard House, Bath Mind’s non-medical mental health support service in Midsomer Norton. Since the service launched, our dedicated team has provided crucial support to 75 adults facing mental health crises. Orchard House has become a safe space for those who need it, whether serving as a step-up service to prevent hospital admission or a step-down service for individuals transitioning back home.

Megan, Orchard House Manager, reflects:

“Over the past year we have helped support over 75 different people, with some returning for additional stays. We have seen some amazing outcomes, lovely written cards of thanks, and positive feedback before someone using our service leaves.

Completing follow up calls really does show that as a service, Orchard House is needed; and what an incredible job everyone is doing and has done to make a positive impact on someone’s lives, giving them the tools to help themselves each day with their own mental health. I am so proud of what Orchard House as a team has achieved of the last year, and I can’t wait to see what the year ahead brings us.”

Feedback from people using the service has been positive, with one person sharing:

Every single one of you went out of your way to help me and make time for me. Not many people in my life have done that. Orchard House is somewhere I have never felt judged, and you are all there to help me.
