Bath Mind are delighted to be charity beneficiaries of an exciting upcoming exhibition, ‘Behind Closed Doors’ by Bath creatives Jason Dorley-Brown and Emma Taylor.⁠

On display at Abbey Hotel‘s ArtBar from 7th February, this unique exhibition celebrates Bath’s historic buildings and an unseen insight into the life and stories behind their doors. ⁠

Kate Morton, CEO (Bath Mind) said, “Within the pandemic, Bath Mind has been fighting an epidemic of mental ill-health.  We have increased our services to meet the growing needs of our community, and help reduce pressure on NHS services.  As a local, independent charity, Bath Mind relies in part on local fundraising.   We are extremely honoured and grateful to The Abbey Hotel, Emma and Jason for their generosity and incredible creativity in organising this wonderful event to help support people in need throughout our community.  “Behind Closed Doors” highlights an important issue, which we hope will help encourage everyone to talk about their mental health and reduce the stigma associated with mental ill-health.”

Emma Taylor, Artist and Curator said, “I’m so excited to be collaborating with Jason and Bath Mind on this project. Bath Mind provide an incredible and sadly much needed service to our community, particularly during times of late. This exhibition is also a chance to celebrate Bath’s heritage and peek ‘behind closed doors’, highlighting human stories and emotions both good and bad – the fact these stories and the way humans interact, the emotional battles we can face and the way these haven’t changed over hundreds of years.”⁠
