I'm Chris White and I have a trustee of Bath Mind since 1983 and remember writing the accounts in a big red ledger, before the introduction of computers. My interest in mental health started even longer ago, as my mother suffered from mental illnesss and I realised that many families are touched by it although it's often misunderstood and the right help is sometimes hard to find. I feel that balancing the books is my contribution to Bath Mind's work in making life better for people with mental health issues.
I'm Janice Walsh and I've been a trustee for Bath Mind since 2014.
I joined the organisation because I have personal experience of mental health issues, having suffered from OCD and associated anxiety and depression since I was 16 years old. My partner has been a huge support to me but I'm one of the lucky ones, not everyone has a family member or friend to help them through the tough times. I've worked for the voluntary sector for the last three years, so I bring to the Board an understanding of working for a small charity and the challenges they face. I love nature, I'm a keen gardener and I do whatever I can to help the bumble bees. If I'm not enjoying the outdoors then I can usually be found reading about it. Oh and just between you and me I also do a bit of ballet!
