If you can spare a minimum of half a day a week we would love to hear from you.
Open Opportunities is a community group, supported by Bath Mind and Virgin Care Community Links team, for anyone who wants help to improve their mental and physical wellbeing.
Open Opportunities members support each other within a relaxed, social environment every Monday 11am-2.00pm at the Manvers Street Open House, Bath. The focus is on taking small steps towards recovery, social interaction and activities of interest to the group.
There is a small charge of £2.50 each week. On the first Monday of each month there will be an opportunity for members to cook and eat together. Lunch will cost £4 (which includes the £2.50 above).
If there is a specific aim that you want to achieve staff and volunteers will work with you to plan a way forward.
Friends in Need is a Bath Mind informal support group for adults with depression and anxiety. It is a way of meeting with others who understand. Belonging to the group helps you to connect, engage and recover. You can join the weekly Wednesday group, who meet in Manvers Street cafe from 12-2pm, or the fortnightly Monday evening group, who either meet in a cafe or choose an activity (bowling, badminton, a walk, cinema visit etc).
This creative group of up to 12 participants work on textiles to create beautiful pieces of work, socialise and improve their wellbeing. Begineers onwards can learn about working with felt, silk embroidery, learn new stitches and much more, having fun with textiles. Expert tutor Jill Perry, assisted by a volunteers and support worker, is on hand to teach you the skills to be confident with your craft and help you experiment. Stitch Friday is held weekly at the Bubble community room, 4/5 Chapel Court, St. John's Foundation, Bath 10.30am-12.30
