Registered care
Bath Mind manages a registered care home at
82 Lower Oldfield Park in Bath, on behalf of
Places for People who own the property.
The home provides care and support for eight
people aged 18 and over with long term mental
health problems. Staff at the home ensure
individual privacy, maintain individual rights
and work towards ensuring individual choice and
fulfilment. These aims are made meaningful
through the creation of individual care plans.
The house is a eight bedroomed, four storey
home in a 'cosmopolitan' and sought after area
of Bath. The house is conveniently placed close
to a bus route which takes you into the centre
of Bath and is close to local amenities on
Moorland Road.
82 Lower Oldfield Park has communal rooms;
two lounges, a kitchen/diner, four bathrooms and
toilets on all levels. Residents are encouraged
to socialize and eat with each other.
The residents are supported 24 hours a day,
seven days a week by the Housing Services
Manager and his team of care workers. The team
provides encouragement, support and assistance
to residents in order to improve their quality
of life, freedom and independence, with a view
to move on to minimum supported housing when
appropriate. Help is available for the residents
to maintain or improve their physical and mental
by encouraging self management and taking as
much responsibility for their own lives as
possible.
All residents have their own key care worker
and access to community services.
Residents must be supported by a mental
health team from within the Avon & Wiltshire
Mental Health NHS Partnership Trust, i.e. a
psychiatrist, CPN, Social Worker or the
Rehabilitation Team.
In some instances referrals are accepted from
other Primary Care Trusts but only in
partnership agreement with all the authorities
involved.
The home is regularly inspected by the Care
Quality Commission
www.cqc.org.uk
(formally the Commission for Social Care
Inspection) and has been quality rated as two
star, meaning that residents experience good
quality outcomes.
