Why take up crafting?
Crafting is going through a revival, with research showing that activities such as knitting, sewing, weaving and crocheting have quite a lot in common with mindfulness and meditation. All are reported to have a positive impact on mind health and wellbeing. Crafters have reported that their craft made them feel 'very happy' and many said they felt relaxed, enjoyed being creative and felt less stressed. 'Get Crafty with Stitch Friday' hopes to inspire and support people to look after their wellbeing.
